Shomari Montsho ~ Photographer ~

This ROOT-WORD is PHOTO which means LIGHT. It comes from the Greek, phos, photos. This Root is very much involved in PHOTOgraphy of all kinds; so much, in fact, that we think the word PHOTO means PICTURE. We have completely forgotten the LIGHT without which there can be no picture.

This ROOT-WORD is GRAPH meaning to WRITE. It comes from the Greek graphein. The list of words derived from this root is truly a monument to man’s skill and ingenuity – even genius! Aloys Senefelder invented lithoGRAPHy about 1796. Samuel Johnson, the first English lexicographer, presented his great work, the Dictionary, in 1775. Since then there have been many inventions and new words have been invented to name them. The root is all.

“Early in life I was told I would become a great writer. Now I know that I am one of the “Light Writers”. Every individual, every company has a story. Who will help you tell yours…”
